Women’s Economic Justice (WEJ) Project in the East African Community, EAC

About the Women’s Economic Justice, WEJ project

The overall goal of the WEJ project is to contribute to women’s economic justice in the East African Community, EAC. There is an economic gap between women and men in the EAC due to gender blind economic policies which has resulted in gender inequality. In order to address the gap, EASSI advocates for the enactment and implementations of the EAC Gender Bill, and advocates for the EAC Elimination of Non-Tariff Barrier Act (2015) : #eliminateNTBs to be implemented in a gender responsive manner. This programme is supported by DIAKONIA.
