The Eastern African Initiatives is a bilingual (English and French) and a bi-annual newsletter produced by EASSI. It covers topical issues including the economy, peace building, poverty eradication initiatives and many other issues in the region. The objectives of the Eastern African Initiatives Newsletter:
To increase networking among and between women's organizations and amongst organizations working for the advancement of women;

A tool for lobby and advocacy, education and awareness creation on issues of the Platforms for action and towards the Review Beijing +10;
Provide a forum for women activists to express themselves through the medium of writing;

To improve information flow between women in the member countries of EASSI;

To increase sharing of information between women in Francophone Africa with those of Anglophone Africa.

JAN TO JUNE 2007 NEWSLETTER

In this issue, the theme was Financing Gender Equality for Democracy and Development.
